Electron Diffraction Can Differentiate Carbon from Nitrogen Atoms and Locate Protons
Electron Diffraction (ED) is gaining world-wide attention in the crystallography community. As part of our efforts to demonstrate the power of ED, we carried out experiments on [2H]-3-amino-1,2,3 triazole (3-AT, C2N4H4), a small and very simple molecule containing only 6 atoms. It is therefore very well suited to assess the “quality” of an ED experiment. A scientific paper from ELDICO Scientific.
ELDICO Scientific takes second place in the ZKB Pionierpreis. We have thus prevailed over more than 30 competitors from the Swiss start-up community, without exception excellent candidates and competitors. A great success! Read more
ELDICO: Funding for better medicine, faster
With a substantial seed funding, raised from private and institutional investors, ELDICO’s product development will be getting a boost. "Electron Diffraction is going to be a game changer", says CEO Dr. Eric Hovestreydt. Read more
ELDICO Scientific AG (The Electron Diffraction Company) is a Swiss hardware company founded in 2019 and based in the Switzerland Innovation Park Innovaare at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), a globally leading Swiss research institute for natural and engineering sciences. ELDICO develops, manufactures and sells novel instruments for electron diffraction in crystallography, enabling nanocrystalline solid state analysis in the sub-micrometer range. Specific instruments are not yet available on the market today. ELDICO will be launching the first instrument specifically designed for nano-crystallographic investigations. The proof of concept was achieved in 2018 (ETH Zurich, C-CINA Basel) on scientifically and industrially relevant samples. It was published in 2018 and awarded as a Top 5 "Breakthrough of the Year 2018" by leading scientific journal SCIENCE. In 2020, ELDICO took second place in the competition for the prestigious pioneer prize awarded by Technopark Zurich and the Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB). www.eldico-scientific.com
