Significant milestone for ELDICO: our engineers have achieved getting the first light on our alpha-system, followed by some nice diffraction patterns a couple of days later. The first STEM imaging experiment has also been successful. This is no surprise, considering the strong target specifications of the new device: refinement down to R1 values <10% in 75% of the cases, resolution of up to 0.84 Å with 60-70% complete datasets having an Rint <20% and up to 160 kV source acceleration. ''We are well on track with the development of the first commercially available electron diffractometer. ELDICO is ready to equip the crystallographic community with a powerful tool that will change the way research of MOFs, zeolithes, minerals, natural products and obviously inorganic as well as organic compounds is done in the future'' says Dr. Eric Hovestreydt, CEO.
